MA-1はB-15型フライトジャケットの後継として、アメリカ空軍が開発したフライトジャケット(フライングジャケット/ボマージャケット)です。MA-1にはアメリカ軍における軍用品規格番号(MIL規格/ミルスペック)のMIL-J-8279からMIL-J-8279Gの8種があります。アメリカ海軍やアメリカ陸軍にも採用され、1950年代から1980年代を通じフライトジャケットの定番となりました。

本製品はそのMA-1の第2番目として登場したMIL-J-8279Aタイプの復刻モデルです。ナイロン製飛行服の多くを納入した実力コントラクター TURNER(アルバートターナー)社の実名ラベルを冠した「MIL-J-8279A」を再現したリプロダクションモデルで、MA-1初の改良型であるA型の中でも内側のフロントフラップが角型のタイプを復刻、アウターシェルもグレーに近い初期MA-1の素材感を余すことなく再現されています。

シルエットは身幅に適度なゆとりを持たせて、着丈が短めに設定されたアメカジスタイルのスクウェアフィットスタイルです。Tシャツなどのライトレイヤーからスウェットなどのヘビーレイヤーまで、様々なレイヤリングに対応できるサイジングです。

表地はナイロン100%のヘビーナイロンツイル生地です。しなやかで柔らかな肌触りと、深みのある光沢をもった、高級感あるナイロン生地です。

裏地は表地とは異なる表情を持った滑りのよいナイロン生地で、インナーウェアとの摩擦を考慮した袖通しの良い生地です。

表地と裏地の間にはウール100%の中綿パイルが詰められ、防寒性・保温性が高められています。

襟と袖口と裾部分はリブで切替えられています。袖口のリブは織りの組成をローゲージからハイゲージに変えることで程よいフィット感を生み出します。

フロントはファスナー開閉式で、ジッパーのスライダーには「T McCOY　」のロゴ刻印が配されています。ジップのスライダーにはレザータブが付けられ、バイクのグローブなどをしていても開閉がしやすくなるようにされています。

ジッパーの後にはジグザグステッチ入りの角型比翼(ストームフラップ)が付き、ジッパーから漏れた風が侵入してくるのを防いでくれるつくりになっています。

左胸付近のジップ脇には、酸素マスクのホースをクリップで固定する目的のナイロン製オキシジェンタブが付けられています。両脇にはICSコードループが配されています。

ウエスト部分の斜めに口が開いたポケットにはスナップボタンが付けられモノが落ちにくいようになっています。ポケットの内側は起毛ダブルフェイスで切り替えらています。両身頃裏左右には縦(サイド)に口が開いたスナップボタン付き内ポケットが設けられています。内ポケットの内側はコットンツイル生地で切り替えられています。

左袖には、エマージェンシーキット(シガレットポケット＆ペンポケット)が設けられ、エアフォースマーク(USエアフォースショルダースリーブインシグニアデカール)のプリントがほどこされています。
